Casa Corcerro
Casa Corcerro, a stone house in western Corfu, follows a minimalist, geometric form, with a rectangular volume embraced by the natural landscape, offering views of the sea. The stone facades of the residence blend harmoniously into the surroundings, while the landscaped outdoor spaces around the house provide different experiences, enhancing the building's connection to the environment.
On the eastern side of the residence lies the covered barbecue area, which serves as a central gathering spot, featuring a built-in seating area that naturally connects the outdoor and covered spaces. On the opposite side, at a lower level, there is a second covered area serving the pool, offering shade and a relaxing space. The steep slope of the plot is utilized by creating a subterranean gym that connects with the pool.
The monolithic volume of the residence, combined with the selected materials - earth - toned stone, Corfiot roof tiles, and wooden pergolas with wicker - evokes the image of a traditional farmhouse.
The interplay between built and natural elements, along with the different levels of the outdoor spaces, enhances the sense of exploration and creates a familiar Mediterranean atmosphere.
