Spartilas house is a villa on the north part of corfu. We started the erection of this minimal house, based on the Corfiot traditional architecture. The clear geometrical lines of the design left little room for mistakes, so every part of the house had to be meticulously constructed, from the exposed wooden roof, to the flooring and wall edge connection.
Sharp lines and precision were the key aspects of it. One very important fact regarding this villa is that it was crucial to maintain as much of the existing natural environment as possible. All trees on the plot around the house had to be kept, so the transportation roots and material storage was arranged according to that.
Natural stone and wood complemented the kourasanit flooring, and achieved a homogeneous and balanced visual feeling.
