Monopati
The villa is located on the west part of the Corfu, close to the village of Pelekas, a rural area characterized by high density vegetation and unobstructed views of the Ionian Sea and the sunset
Key to the character of the house is the palette of traditional materials such as maltesian stone and old local bricks for the floors, kourasanit and cement mortar for the walls, as well as wood and old local roof tiles for the finish. The materials applied and engineered with contemporary techniques to create a nostalgic architecture that bridges heritage and locality with contemporary life.
The plot combines different qualities of outdoor spaces. Untouched nature, a path between the trees (monopati) and the house.
The design is inspired by corfiot tradition and is built upon the idea of slow summer living that encourages mindful connection with family, friends and the freedom to exist peacefully in nature.
