En Gaia
En Gaia is a residential complex situated on a hillside in Pelekas, Corfu, designed in full harmony with the island’s natural landscape and architectural tradition. The layout follows the terrain’s natural slope, forming multi-level volumes that blend seamlessly into the environment.
Inspired by the organic structure of Corfiot villages, the complex is composed of interlinked units connected through outdoor paths, stairways, and landscaped areas. Each room opens onto a private courtyard, extending the living space outdoors and offering uninterrupted sea views and peaceful seclusion.
The material palette draws from local craftsmanship: corfiot ceramic roof tiles, woven reed pergolas, and natural plaster in earthy tones foster a strong sense of place.
Simple geometries and soft curves, in human scale, define the architectural volumes. The play between light and shadow, open and enclosed, public and private, creates a dynamic yet intimate living experience, deeply rooted in nature.
